CURUG PANGANTEN

Curug Panganten is one of many waterfalls in Bandung. The waterfall’s height is about 25 meter and it is located in Desa Padaasih, West Java province. To get to Curug Panganten we will pass by Katumiri in Cihanjuang which is approximately 7 km from Cimahi by taking direction to Parongpong.

Is there anyone who knows why does it call Curug Panganten ..? why is it named Curug Panganten? According to local people, one upon time, there were newlyweds who were doing the photo shoot marriage when suddenly a boulder fell from a cliff hit directly on the newlyweds and they died instantly. That is why; the waterfall is named Curug Panganten. Panganten means both bride and bridegroom in Indonesian Language.

To get to the location of Curug Panganten, it takes about 2 miles from Katumiri’s entrance. To go to Curug Panganten we have to pass thorny and downhill path, so please be careful. And do not forget to prepare your camera because the paths we will pass by, you’re going to see the scenery of the cliff and the view of Bandung city from an altitude of about 1,050 km above sea level. After walking about 40 minutes we will be crossing the bridge made out of bamboo to cross the river, not far from the bridge we will soon reach Curug Panganten. The stream from of Curug Panganten is clear enough, so you can play or go swimming. And in the area near the waterfall we have to be careful because in that area there are wild monkeys, do not approach the monkeys or give them food because it is dangerous.
